ABOUT KEW DERMATOLOGY

For over 40 years, Kew Dermatology has been a specialist Dermatology clinic. Founded in the 1970s by Dermatologist Dr Peter Sinclair, many of our patients and their families have been attending Kew Dermatology for management of their skin health ever since.

In 2016, Dr Peter Sinclair reduced his working hours and a number of other Dermatologists have now joined Kew Dermatology. Their Australian based training has brought new skills and expertise to help care for the long-term patients of Dr. Sinclair. They have also been able to increase the services provided, and appointments available to the local community.

We are committed to realising the vision of the consultant dermatologists to continue providing excellent dermatology care, and to provide the latest dermatology treatments in the clinic. Kew Dermatology has had careful, extensive renovations to the beautiful heritage listed building and upgraded our facilities.

WHY CHOOSING A DERMATOLOGIST FOR YOUR SKIN IS IMPORTANT

There are many professions claiming they can treat skin conditions, making it challenging to work out who is the best person to consult with. In Australia, Dermatologists are the only recognised experts in skin disease in Australia.

Dermatologists who have undergone a minimum of 4 years of extra training after qualifying as Doctors. They are qualified in all areas of skin health, including general dermatology, diagnosing and managing skin cancers, skin surgery, and cosmetic treatments.

After Dermatologists extensive training there are rigorous examinations we must undertake. In Australia, Accredited Dermatologists are fellows of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and therefore have the title “FACD.” It is important when you are choosing a specialist for your skin that you should look for the “FACD”. This ensures your Doctor has the right training and expertise to treat and care for your skin condition.
