Dr Lauren YoungDermatologist

Dr Lauren Young is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

On completion of her dermatology training, she was the recipient of the Australasian College of Dermatologists’ travelling fellowship award for the most meritorious performance in their annual national examinations.

Dr Young has completed a twelve-month fellowship sub-specialising in Mohs surgery, a unique surgical technique which offers an unparalleled cure rate in treating certain skin cancers, particularly basal cell carcinomas.

Lauren also holds medical and surgical appointments at The Alfred Hospital, and performs Mohs surgery at the Skin and Cancer Foundation of Victoria. Dr Young is involved in teaching dermatology registrars at both centres.

Dr Young is committed to providing cohesive and individualised care to her patients. Her particular interest is in the effective diagnosis and management of skin cancers.

Dr Emma MooneyDermatologist

Dr Emma Mooney is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

Dr Mooney completed her dermatology training in Victoria and Tasmania including at The Alfred Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Hobart Hospital and the Skin and Cancer Foundation of Victoria.

She was awarded the Adrian Johnson Prize for best paper published in the Australian Journal of Dermatology by a college trainee and is undertaking a Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

Dr Mooney has a range of interests including women’s and children’s dermatology, hair loss, acne, rosacea, inflammatory skin disorders and skin cancer diagnosis and management.

Emma undertakes rural clinics in Warrnambool during the year and will be working at a number of public hospitals in Melbourne during 2017.

Dr Mooney is committed to providing friendly and holistic patient care.

Dr Clare SchofieldDermatologist

Dr Clare Schofield is a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD). Clare completed her dermatology training at one of Australia’s largest dermatology departments, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She has consulted in private dermatology clinics in Victoria and Tasmania prior to establishing Melbourne City Dermatology.

Clare is  a consultant dermatologist and training supervisor in The Alfred hospital and enjoys teaching medical students and trainee dermatologists.

Dr Matthew PalmerDermatologist
Dr Matthew Palmer is a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD).


Matthew commenced dermatology specialist training in 2010, and spent years training in Brisbane, the United Kingdom, and Melbourne.


He has interests in  general dermatology including inflammatory skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis, acne treatment, and hair loss.


Matthew also has an interest in skin cancer management and surgery and hold a public appointment at The Skin and Cancer Foundation, Victoria.

Dr Peter SinclairDermatologist

Dr Peter Sinclair has retired from clinical work in early 2017 after many years of caring for his patients at Kew Dermatology.
